| "Artists' Books I" Introduction to the Creation of Artists' Books
Given by

Students will complete a series of exercises through which they will understand the different steps required to produce a book. They will also analyze the different types of books and learn how to choose the right one for each kind of contents.
General Objective
Learn about the tools required to produce their own books.
Specific objectives
- Introduction to books and their shape
- Different types of binding on the basis of folds
- Different types of binding on the basis of sewing
- How to develop a suitable book for each type of contents
Work dynamic
Students will make their first book during the first session. During this exercise, participants will understand how a book is made. This small volume contains most of the exercises that will be carried out during the following days, together with a bibliography.
During the rest of the workshop, they will carry out manual bookbinding exercises at the same time as they analyze the book as a container and its shape on the basis of its contents.

Plastic artists, photographers, designers and the general public interested in the production of books with a small print run.
Material
- Bone paper folder, cutter, scissors
- Three folds of paper of different colors and qualities
- Two folds of construction paper of different colors and qualities (they do not have to be fine or expensive)

20 hours, 5 sessions of 4 hours

Nota:
In the event that a student cancels his or her participation in the workshop, 100% of the cost will be reimbursed if cancellation is requested 5 or more working days prior to the start of the workshop. If cancellation is requested after this period, a penalty of 20% of the total cost of the workshop will be charged, which can also be used as a deposit towards another of the Foundation's workshops. If the student cancels on the same day that the workshop begins, there will be no reimbursement.
Since we are an organization with limited resources, the rejection of applications does not in any way mean the rejection of the work or the candidate who has not been selected. Applications must be received 8 days before the start of the workshop. Applicants will be informed of the results 5 days before the start of the workshop.
