"Time-Scale-Space" Workshop involving the conceptual exploration of time and space through photography
Given by

In this workshop, students will explore the concepts of time and space through photography. They will learn how scale alters the perception of these concepts. During the workshop, students will engage in perception exercises through fixed images. Each participant will choose a project to be undertaken during the workshop through group discussions, personalized advice and practice of the concepts dealt with in class. The individual project will be selected on the basis of the first sessions following a series of exercises.
We will explore various definitions of time and space including both physical and social aspects with various examples drawn from history in both photography and other media (video, cinema and visual arts).
General Objective
During the workshop, participants will undertake a project from start to finish, from conceptualization to the final product, in which they will make decisions on the basis of the concept for a specific medium.
Specific Objectives
- Explore the concepts of time, scale and space in depth.
- Explore changes in the perception of time and space through scale.
- Make decisions on a specific project on the basis of concepts.
